When you are as old as me, it is hard to find a place to start. I guess that was when I gained my Bachelor degree in Teaching graduating with a thesis on online learning and majoring in art. From marriage and becoming a primary school principal, the arrival of an adorable son, a certificate and a business in handloom weaving and years followed teaching art principles and design to adults. An interest in flower arranging led to the establishment of floral design magazine which kept me occupied for 20 years, as well as teaching more workshops. Developing skills to create the IT components of the magazine added to the fun. Retirement developed into book illustrations (mikeleggbooks.com) and writing my own award winning stories… and then my 50 years of sewing skills, and art creativity merged into my clothing becoming art pieces and my art becoming clothing pieces. And now all those considerable skills along with teaching adults, have come available with my very personal online workshops for you

And a funny story to finish! When I was 13 at High School I had to take a sewing class making a pair of trousers. My Mum was a professional seamstress and when I bought them home half made, she unpicked, resewed and gave them back to me to take back to school. And that was the beginning of my sewist career. Not a great start! But I did get my sewing machine at 21 so perhaps that was when it really started.
