We’ve spent August looking at what extraordinary things people are doing with embroidery. Now it’s our turn.
Bring a white blouse that is ready for a new life, your threads and needles, and an open mind. Over six online workshops, I’ll show you how I began my own embroidered blouse and how you can build your own design, layer by layer, stitch by stitch.
We’ll experiment with ideas, techniques, colour, paint and placement, and by the later workshops we’ll be sitting together, actually embroidering.
There’s no pattern to follow and no need to be an expert. Your blouse will become your canvas.

We work in New Zealand dollars. The usual price for the workshop is $NZ129 (approximately $US77, €66, £57) Participant numbers are strictly limited.

This is an interactive, course with six LIVE sessions using zoom over 6 weeks so you have plenty of time to work through each stage. They are recorded so you are able to review the lessons and look at them over and over. You will receive one-on-one evaluation during each step and your question will be answered. If you can not keep up the pace, each lesson will be recorded so you can work around your other commitments.
You will need 1 white top, preferably in a fabric that takes fabric paint, 2-3 colours of fabric paint, embroidery thread and odd scraps of wedding type lace (depending also on your design and imagination )in the colours of your unique design, an embroidery hoop and fabric interfacing. If you are an artist with a unique style already, all the better as this workshop will be your starting point.
